Check Out This Lake Front Roofing Installation We Completed in Wilmette
We recently completed a roofing installation on a new-build lake front home in Wilmette, Illinois. The homeowner wanted to use multiple types of roofing materials to give the property a unique look. Slate Tile Roof Installation
On the pitched portions of the roof, we installed natural slate tiles. These were a Vermont black color, and they instantly added to the luxurious aesthetic of the home.
Slate tile roofing is known not only for its attractive aesthetics, but for its extreme durability as well. It can last over 100 years when properly installed by a professional roofing contractor.
TPO Roofing Installation
Portions of the roof were flat in configuration, which means they couldn’t be properly accommodated by metal or slate roofing. Instead, we covered them with TPO roofing, which is a single-ply flat roofing material that’s affordable, durable, and low-maintenance. This will provide vital water protection, ensuring that the roof doesn’t take on any undue damage.
Metal Roofing Installation
For the main portions of the roof, we used metal roofing materials. These included standing seam metal natural zinc roofing, specifically. These were fully fabricated by our experts, and they were carefully designed to meet the client’s exact aesthetic preferences.
Zinc standing seam metal roofing is not only aesthetically pleasing, but also durable, low-maintenance, and lightweight as well.
Zinc Molding Installation
On the eyebrow dormer portions of the roof, we installed zinc molding. This molding was fabricated entirely by us, and it delivered an instant aesthetic boost to the entire roof.
Zinc Finial Installation
Not only did we install new zinc molding, but new zinc finials as well. As with the zinc roofing and zinc molding we installed, these zinc finials were 80% fabricated in-house.
Finials are ornaments that protrude from the tops of roofs, enhancing their aesthetics and helping them stand out amongst other homes. They are highly customizable, and they can bring a great deal of personality to a home.

Zinc Scupper Box Installation
We also equipped the home with new zinc scupper boxes. These were custom-made by our team to compliment the home’s existing aesthetic and functionality.
The purpose of a scupper box is to catch water from the flat roof and drain it on the outside wall. In doing so, the scupper box helps mitigate water damage and allows the roof to last longer.
Gutter and Downspout Installation
Finally, we equipped the home with new gutters and downspouts. The gutters were made in a K-style and fabricated entirely from zinc, and the round smooth downspouts were also fabricated entirely in zinc. The K-style gutters measured in at 6 inches wide and the round smooth downspouts measured in at 4 inches, respectively.
